Plans after RMMS -Alex

My plans for after RMMS are for the first weeks I will do nothing but relax watch TV, eat, and sleep. Then I will have to go to this summer program for the high school that I will be attending. It will be for two weeks. After I am done with that I will go and work at my uncles soon to be restaurant. I’ll help him by cleaning the dishes, take out the trash, maybe work in the cash register, cleaning tables, mopping the floor or sweeping. Then when I am in high school I will try to get in the high math classes. In the summer my cousin and me will attend the Los Angeles community college. We will be in the summer program also known as the Upper Bound program. They will pay you to go to school. If I graduate from high school I will try to attend a college that will give me an education in human behavior. While I am in college I will work in a part time job in either my uncles restaurant or in a Mac Donald’s. When I graduate from college that is when I wont know what to do. I know that by the time I graduate from high school that I will have found an apartment for myself. I will try to get a good career for my self so I can have money in my pocket. Like I wrote above I wont know what to do after I graduate so I will just try to figure it out when I graduate from college.

Joey's plans after middle skool

My Plans/ the future I know little about

Finally school is at its end and I have no idea what I’m going to do over summer, but schools out so no more freaking homework/projects. The ending of school is that exciting, but my birthday is coming so everything isn’t that bad. I’m not really looking forward to it because its just an event that only comes once every year and only lasts for 24 hours. I know I won’t attend Gertz and thank God, but the only flaw that this prayer contains is leaving my friends behind. From these kinds of events, I can tell that this is going to be a long summer.
On the contrary, I am going camping with Hector and that the only thing I’m looking forward to this summer. Oh yeah, and I’m moving. Although, it does suck I just have to get use to calling that new place home. I don’t know how I’m going to murder time over summer, but curiosity will lead the way. I could look forward to my family activities, but I shouldn’t count on it to happen because there will be a chance that it might not happen. I can always kick it wit my old buddies so I wont forget hem, especially the ones that I consider family. I ant tell what in my future, but I do know that surprises will come along the way to guide me through my life and build the future that I always hoped for.

My plans for summer and for Gertz restler highschool\Ramon

After Richard Merkin middle school I am going to go to the school across the way which is Gertz Ressler high school for two mandatory weeks of summer school and with any luck after that I will be able to go to El Salvador. Their I am going to visit my uncle who was deported,my grandma,grandpa,and my pet dog browny.Also I am going to come back to America and try to go over to friends houses,to just play and talk about which teachers we will miss and which teachers we won't miss.After I have done that i am going to stay at home watch television and eat that is all i am going to do this summer after graduation from Richard Merkin middle school.
When I am in Gertz Ressler high school I plan to do my work graduate or go to another school that would look better on a college application but while I am at Gertz Ressler high school
I expect to be in extracurricular activities.Also I will be able to take advanced placement classes in high school also those classes will challenge me to do better for college.These are the things i expect to do over the summer and what I hope to do in Gertz Ressler high school.

Family and Values

Families are different and similar in different ways. Some families still worship their beloved dead, by having a little shrine, and some get used to the fact that they are dead and keeping living. Some families are true to their religion and have crosses with Jesus on them on there walls, they pray before they eat, before they drive, before they sleep and at church. While some families just go to church. Families are also different in the way they teach their kids. They either lecture them or let them go through it. For example family a will teach their kid to not let strangers in the house, and when a stranger is their then they will do what they were taught, While family b has never taught their kid anything about strangers and one tries to enter their house he or she will not now what to do and let the stranger come in. The typical American family is a man his wife a daughter a son and a dog. Most families are not like that. Some have just one child and some have three, four or even more. The similarity of these different families is that they will have an argument or a fight about something, the oldest one will eventually drift apart from the family, the youngest one will be spoiled more than the oldest. However most families have the same values. They want their children to receive a good education, find a really good job, surpass their parents, and to be a good citizen. No family wants their child or children to do drugs, skip school, be associated with any gang, or to live in the streets. There are more similarities than this but a lot of this is how my family feels. They don’t want me too do anything that will get me in trouble or to be associated with a gang.

Life as a minor at RMMS

My name is Joey Coreas, and I attend a middle school known as Richard Merkin. This school gives a good education, but has high expectations. It’s not a school that has a jungle gym or a big yard to play in, but everyone somehow finds their own way to have fun. Although, too much fun can lead to trouble and even lead to expulsion. Here at Richard Merkin the rules are very strict and expect you to be mature and act like young responsible adults. This school does not tolerate certain things like violence and profanity, so I’m warning you now … DON’T DO IT!!!!!!
Like any other charter school, Richard Merkin has a dress code that requires every student to wear uniform. From grades 6th through 7th, the students have to wear cacky bottoms and a green top, but 8th graders have a decision to wear either green or navy blue tops.
As a student here, life isn’t that really interesting. Everyday seems the same from my perspective, but although its not boring the majority of the time. The food they serve here is not perfect, but you’ll find someway to get use to it. I don’t want to be a suck up and say this school is perfect, but I feel like this school isn’t really a right choice to send your child to. The only reason I say this is because as my experience as a 7th and 8th grader, you child could get involved with other students that could be nothing but trouble. Even though this school doesn’t look much, big things can happen here that can possibly change the way your child thinks.
Even though Richard Merkin is a charter school, I still think that the idea of uniform is not needed. For the past three and a half semesters here with my experience, it feels like I’m some sort of a prisoner stuck in a building with nothing but plain old education.

America’s True Image
American society is obsessed with image it is very judged country. Most of the people care about how they look from the outside than the inside. This means that they care about the looks than their own personality. Most of America thinks that being Mr./Ms. Pretty face and skinny bone Jones is a good thing. To get through life you don’t exactly have to be pretty and perfect. I mean look at everyday people they are usually very smart and know how to do allot. They could live of by themselves and know how to get around without having a pretty face and coke bottle body.
Most of Americas image is fake cause it’s mostly made of off plastic surgery. You might look pretty from the outside but you know that your real beauty comes from the inside and that your outside is “fixed”. Some people are not satisfied on the way they look so therefore everything the “are to everyone else” is fake. Like for example they get a nose job, implants, or bleaching your skin if you don’t like your dark skin tone and you could do much more. What if you don’t have the money to do this? That’s simple to answer people usually buy make up to show the beauty in front all their “ugliness”. The thing people mostly care about the way they look are mostly people with low self –esteems , or just plain shallow personalities .
They exaggerate about themselves. Like if a teen feels fat she thinks that she should loose weight by not eating. This is a very big case in America because this could either lead to leukemia, anorexia, or bulimic. A lot of teenage girls wear to much make up this causes there skin to be damaged and once they hit their twenties they can’t be without makeup cause they look ugly.
Celebrities care more about their body image than regular people. Celebrities care allot of their body image because they always have to be perfect in everything and all there clothing has to fit well. The celebrities do allot sacrifices for them to look good and fit, so they start going on diets and work out allot to have a perfect body. Celebrities have a strict diet like no fats, oils, and sweets and they have to drink allot of water and do allot of exercise. They always care about themselves and their body but never about other people. They mostly care about their body image when they are taking pictures of themselves. This leads the people to try to look like their favorite actor\model when mainly the people that we try to look like are usually photographically altered to make them look perfect.
Celebrities think that if their pretty in every way and especially of their body image that America likes them only because of that, no America doesn’t like them just because of their image they like them because their personality in movies and because their unique in every way. Celebrities don’t have to be perfect at all to be pretty and have a cute body they only have to be themselves. Body image shouldn’t matter in life at all, only if you are perfect in everything, but no one is perfect at all. So most of America is obsessed about their body image.
You should accept the way you look and learn how to love yourself for who you are. The person that thinks your pretty is the person that loves you for who you are like in the book Cyrano de Bergerac I am making a reference to the part in which Cyrano realizes that Roxane fell in love with his letters rather than Christian’s looks. So next time you see someone have a lot of makeup or plastic surgery remember that they aren’t secure of themselves and care more about how they look from the outside then the in.

Me, My Self, And I

My names is Arturo and am a student at Richard Merkin Middle. What I like to do on my spare time Is that on a like to skateboard after school. A typical for me is I wake early usually around 6 a.m. to go to school. Once I am at school I go to my I go my first class and all I do for the rest of the day is go to my class and do my work. After school I go home and go to sleep for a while. Then after my nape I play my guitar for like three hours. After that then I do my homework. Finally I go to sleep once again to a wait for another day.

My name is Alejandro Salgado but I prefer it if people call me Alex. I was born in June 1994. I am about 5 feet. I like to listen to music, play video games, eat food, sleep, play some sports, jog and watch TV.I don’t tolerate racism. The sports I like to play are soccer, basketball, and dodge ball.
